Description

This session covers the online components of HMH's Go Math! This session is designed for teachers in schools that have adopted the HMH Go Math! Curriculum.

Sessions are available for both Beginner and Intermediate level participants on the following dates:

  • Saturday, October 11
  • Saturday, October 18
  • Saturday, October 25
  • Tuesday, November 4
  • Wednesday, February 18



Prerequisites for attending “Think Central Training for Beginners”:

  • Participants MUST have an active user account for Think Central and have their teacher registration completed for Go Math.

In the Beginner sessions, participants will learn how to set up a class, add students to a class, navigate features of the “Dashboard”, access tools for help and self-study resources, ePlanner overview, and set up basic lesson plans and explore digital features such as student eBook.

Prerequisites for attending “Think Central Intermediate Training”

  • All Participants MUST have an active Go Math classroom, with students, set up in Think Central
  • Participants should be comfortable/familiar navigating Think Central features, such as eStudent Book, ePlanner, ect.
  • Participants MUST have their mySmartPlanner school calendar set up within Go Math (not necessary to have any lessons scheduled just set up the calendar ).

In the Intermediate sessions, participants will learn how to *search and browse for resources to be added to daily lesson plans, take a deeper dive into Soar to Success Math, Destination Math, and Mega Math for as support resources for differentiated instruction, examine interactive whiteboard resources, and create customized assessments.

Materials: Some beginner sessions will take place in a computer lab with computers available. Please note that if you register for a session that is not in a computer lab, you must bring your own device (laptop or tablet).

Timing: Beginner sessions will take place from 8:30 a.m – 3 p.m. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive by 8:15 a.m. so we can begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Intermediate sessions will take place from 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Registration will open at 12 p.m. Please arrive by 12:15 p.m. so we can be begin promptly at 12:30 p.m.

Location: Stuyvesant High School in downtown Manhattan (345 Chambers St, New York, NY 10282). Take the 1/2/3, A/C/E, or the J/Z to Chambers Street, 4/5/6 to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, or the R to City Hall.

Parking: Street parking is limited in the area. Parking is available one block away for $25 through Greenlux Parking LLC located at 300 North End Ave, New York, NY 10282.

Food: We are unable to provide food for this workshop. You will have an hour-long break for lunch during the day. Please plan accordingly.

Compensation for attending these workshops will be provided by your school. Please speak to your principal before registering for this session.
